I think I understand what you are saying Kathy and why you have lost faith in the US but we are in a time of great geopolitical turmoil in the world and, although the US is important, there is more to consider than just the US. Israel is under constant threat from its neighbors and although I hope it will not be necessary your sons may be needed to enlist to fight for Israel. The number one priority of the US should be to provide assistance to Israel. This is in the best interests of the US because as goes Israel, so goes the US! In my family, my four maternal Uncles served in WW2. One didn't return and is buried in the Canadian War Cemetary in Bari Italy.

The US should be just as wary of a Poilievre regime as of a Trudeau regime. The entire Canadian parliament paid homage to the Ukranian Yaroslav Hunka who fought for the Nazis against his own nation. That is an insult to the memory of men and women who fought the Nazis. Canada gave refuge to many Nazi war criminals. Any continued influx of Islamists across the border or other provocations by the Canadians should me met with decisive action. The US has a right to protect itself from terrorists.
