Do not forget the Alien and Sedition Act 1798...do not think it cannot be applied again to us, us contrarians, skeptics for 'questioning' & raising serious issues for the wrongs committed under COVID
Do not think it cannot be applied to you; My friend Jeff Tucker reminded of this...came close after the First Amendment
Under the guise of stopping enemies and shoring up the authority of the federal government, the Sedition Act in particular said AND do not forget this paragraph:
‘And be it farther enacted, That if any person shall write, print, utter or publish, or shall cause or procure to be written, printed, uttered or published, or shall knowingly and willingly assist or aid in writing, printing, uttering or publishing any false, scandalous and malicious writing or writings against the government of the United States, or either house of the Congress of the United States, or the President of the United States, with intent to defame the said government, or either house of the said Congress, or the said President, or to bring them, or either of them, into contempt or disrepute; or to excite against them, or either or any of them, the hatred of the good people of the United States, or to stir up sedition within the United States, or to excite any unlawful combinations therein, for opposing or resisting any law of the United States, or any act of the President of the United States, done in pursuance of any such law, or of the powers in him vested by the constitution of the United States, or to resist, oppose, or defeat any such law or act, or to aid, encourage or abet any hostile designs of any foreign nation against United States, their people or government, then such person, being thereof convicted before any court of the United States having jurisdiction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars, and by imprisonment not exceeding two years.’
Fraud vitiates everything. 2000 Mules, the movie coming May 2&3 in theaters, May 7 online. Look it up you can buy tickets. It shows enough fraud to decertify the election. If anyone has the guts to do it.
The US was preparing for war with France and needed a constant war rhetoric, they needed to silence anyone opposed to the war.
There was another Sedition Act of 1918 too, again the US was about to enter WW1 and they needed to stop any opposition to the US involvement. The public was not interested in war, only the politicans.
Both Acts were let expire or later Congress removed them. In 1918 a famous SCOTUS case sided with the Sedition Act against a political opponent who was a pacifist and socialist. Later it was dropped and he was released from jail because Congress removed the Act.
Notice the common elements. Both were during a national emergency, even if it was a created emergency, the US did not need to go to war either time, only in the eyes of politics.
Even the Supreme Court sided against the First Amendment in the 1918 case, by the famous Justice Holmes who even stated that you could put aside free speech under certain circumstances.
See the picture. You need a crises, you make law because it's a crisis for your safety or it's war time.
Repeat the same tactic. WMD, 911 and the creation of Homeland Security and other Orwellian laws.
Now look at today. Covid crises, Russian crises. The need all of the sudden for a Ministry of Truth by Biden. Lockdowns, human rights being abused, censorship. They never stop do they? They use the same play book continually to remove freedoms and rule by decree. It never changes.
Republics are the worst because the representative becomes corrupt to the point of no return. Notice even the protector of the Constitution failed miserably, the Supreme Court.
People think the Constitution will save them. Ha, it was written in the negative, ie the government cannot do this or that. But a decision many years ago by the Court changed that, now the government can accuse you of anything they want and it's up to you to prove them wrong. That's the reverse of how the Constitution was written.
You see, we no longer have the original Constitution. It's been sullied, watered down, muted. We have a Construction Lite. I'm sorry to say but our Union is not going to be around much longer, we will split later this century, maybe sooner.
