Immediately following Trump's election in 2016, the evil ones went through deplatforming over 200 web sites.
Pretty sure Matt was given a choice; 1) keep doing what you are doing and they would turn off all ad revenue and make it so no one could visit the site or 2) sell out to them, get a check and sign an NDA so no one knows it was sold. "They" continue operating the site and slowly it conforms to their "controlled opposition" model. That's why people are always surprised when these things turn in the end. They were never real opposition, just there to waste time and apply further brainwashing and spells on the site's readers.
