If it was a "hope" it was a considerable gamble. And given that there were a significant number of doctors, researchers and scientists out there trying to raise the alarm ... who were not only ignored but demonized, de-platformed, censored and etc. It was a reckless "hope", one could even say a wicked "hope".

A "hope" driven by many things not related to helping folks. And all of that ignores the very real possibility of an attempt by some, who control almost all of the money, to get rid of a bunch of us.

I guess it should also be mentioned, that it didn't occur in a vacuum. Things like Remdesivir, Midasolam, the demonizing of early treatments, the not fit for purpose PCR test and what happened to many older folks (who now no longer collect age related money, because they are dead).

Oh and also calling everything "covid" and the monetary incentives to do so.

In the hearts of some? sure. But when looking at all of the evidence and the preponderance of it ... it is hard to come to that conclusion for most.

I disagree on the point that the death effects were unintentional. They were intentional. Bill Gates , for example, is a global depopulationist, on record.
