All of this was elder abuse by any other name.
I think this selective culling of the elderly was driven by two motivations: 1) too many people drawing social security relative to shrinking population of workers, and 2) reducing numbers of conservative voters.

but all these doctors didn't decide instantaneously and independently to murder their patients.
