The XBB1.5 booster based on the mice will fail just like the failed bivalent booster, a mismatch between vaccinal antibodies to circulating spike antigen, and there will be alike from when the vaccine was rolled out initially Feb 2021, original antigenic sin, immune fixation, recalled antibodies to prior prime. Antibody dependent enhancement of infection. This is a disaster and the result will be more variants being driven (via Darwinian natural selection pressure) with the possibility of a more lethal sub-variant, more virulent, not just infectious. This could threaten humanity.

As of now, there is no indication that the EG.5 clade or any variant for that matter is more lethal than omicron etc. Hospitilizations if any, if reporting is honest, will be for high-risk vulnerable persons as it always was, obese people etc. Not the general low risk population or children. No indication of severity based on reporting thus far.
