IMO Maduro's apprehension and arrest was a necessary operation, long overdue. It was not possible to undertake successfully until the U.S. had a determined President and a military purged of 'wokeness.'

It was also a grand show of force, meticulous preparation, and restraint, intended to intimidate every other Latin American dictator from continuing to engage in governmental drug trafficking, from looking the other way while their nationals engage in drug trafficking, and/or from undertaking drug trafficking.

Congratulations on a well-executed military operation, Mr. President, Sec'y. Hegseth, General Caine, and Sec'y. Rubio.

The 2,000 mile excuse that Venezuela does not pose a problem for the US is completely ridiculous. It is also a complete revision of the truth that De Tocqueville came to America to study the prison system. In the modern world 2,000 miles is not very far. We are so close to Venezuela that Tren de Aragua, and Cartel de Los Soles have set up shop in our country. It was over 3,500 miles for De Tocqueville to come to America to study democracy, and that occurred more than 100 years ago. Leake misses the forest for the trees in this piece. Bravo Trump.
