We age prioritize and stratify vaccines for other conditions, so why not COVID???
For meningococcal meningitis, we prioritize the vaccine in the US, Canada and elsewhere for teens and University/College age persons etc. Why? Because this is the at risk group (high-risk) for meningitis. We do not prioritize these vaccines to children or elderly people. They are not at high-risk. We do not mass vaccinate.
For pneumococcal pneumonia, we prioritize the vaccine in the US, Canada and elsewhere for elderly persons etc. Why? Because this is the at risk group for pneumonia which can be fatal. We do not give or prioritize these vaccines to children or young people. They are not at high risk. We do not mass vaccinate outside of the high risk groups for this.
So if COVID is not a disease of infants, children, young teens, teens, young persons, middle aged persons, even older healthy persons etc., why are we vaccinating them? The at risk group is elderly persons with underlying conditions, immunosuppressed persons or compromised. And the statement that the vaccines would strop transmission. It is well known that the vaccine has failed to stop transmission and that is why they are going at a 3rd shot and even a 4th. It has failed. But why are persons outside of the at risk group being vaccinated especially given the harms of the vaccine that includes death.
Is there something other than science at play here?
