Hi Linda - I have a thing about raw onions and garlic - I used to live and work in London and whenever a Curry, Raw Onions or Garlic Muncher got on the underground, it did not take long for their breath to go throughout the carriage I was on - so we all felt like puking, was my take on it.
However, I've not heard about swollen glands and raw garlic - do you rub it on, or eat it, to get the swollen glands down?
I nibble on it as it is strong...I just take a tiny bite every so often. What works good and covers the strong garlic taste is to get a slice of whole grain bread, dice up the garlic and put it on the bread, then put lots of yellow mustard over it , fold the bread in half and eat it like that. The mustard cools the hot taste of the garlic, and mustard has healing properties too. You could rub some on the skin, im pretty sure it would go through the skin also.
