Why did the FDA demand only RCTs) and this precluded good HCQ and IVM & other key tools for COVID responding, when they had a duty and actual ACTs saying use RWE & observational studies?
Congress needs to do their part to fix this legislation and prevent it from ever occurring again.

I also wondered why the right to try law passed early under Trump did not apply to the repurposed drugs like hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. Prior to the dictatorial oversight during the pandemic, doctors were generally allowed to offer an FDA approved drug for a different indication as long as we gave informed consent. Many medications used in pediatrics are not FDA approved for use in younger children, but are used everyday in an active pediatric or family practice. So many people died unnecessarily.
