failed, were never & will never be effective for these respiratory viruses...see my review showing near 200 studies & pieces of evidence showing the masks, surgical masks, cloth masks are junk failure
My med school and nursing school in Japan still require them. Just a month ago, my students complained to my Dept. Head that I was not wearing one in class.
Masks are worse than nothing, they are not benign.
The globalists clearly believe people will stupidly comply with whatever they say, as long as they can sell it with "protecting" others or "keeping grandma safe". These tired old sales pitches should have worn thin. Unfortunately for the freedom group, they are partly correct. A lot of people will mindlessly comply. I used to treat patients with multi-drug-resistent mycobacterium tuberculosis, a bacteria. Hospital staff used N95 masks, IN ADDITION TO negative pressure ventilation and other engineering methods, to limit spread within the hospital. Whenever I see someone wearing a mask now, I simply ask, "TB?" But masks for viruses is idiotic. In my PhD for chemical engineering, I also studied deposition of inhaled particles, and mucociliary clearance of those particles. So, I understand viral and bacterial particle sizes. There is a big difference.
On the other hand, I wonder if N95 masks might have a role, given the influx of people into the USA with potential tuberculosis, with no health screening at open borders. Again, general health status is very important. But immunocompromised people with TB is one future health concern I worry about. We don't have borders. Maybe for bacterial infection, a mask might have a very, very small potential for help in some communities. Just not for the viruses they are worried about.
