“If blood pressure is only measured while people are seated upright, cardiovascular disease risk may be missed if not measured also while they are lying supine on their backs,” says lead study author
This is interesting. What would one look for in a supine position? What parameters would shift in the reading supine vs sitting for a provider to refer for further work up?
In addition to lying down, vs sitting some people also have elevated blood pressure only at the doctors office, so it's a good idea to also take blood pressure readings at home to see if this is the case. Just testing at home can help to keep you from becoming overmedicated (some of these meds even cause ED) - especially if you don't actually have high blood pressure.
Sounds like Harvard is trying to get ahead of all the continued incoming heart issues from the injection....
maybe...I thought so too but we share any interesting information...

Very interesting, but seems quite a few years late to do any good. But we who have our own blood pressure monitors can do both readings.

Paul: Typo in your title above. Supine is lying on the back. (Not seated). https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/49/Supine_and_prone_diagrams-en.svg/1200px-Supine_and_prone_diagrams-en.svg.png
