How sad that our representatives in government, who are old and afraid, are willing to throw the next generation under the bus to save themselves. It is the epitome of yellow-bellied. My 79 year old mother said she'd rather die free, than locked down in this insane asylum. She is independent, lives alone, survived COVID without a vaccine, and has become a bit of a rebel in the past two years; she is my hero.

What they did to old people was perverse and spiteful. They said they wanted to protect them, but they did almost the diametric reverse: they emptied geriatric wards full of infected people into care homes; they tortured these people with severe isolation; near the end of their days, they kept them separate from their loved ones. It was chilling and calculated and evil. There is no other word for it. Evil.

This happened to my mom. 😢 January 2021. She had a stroke shortly after taking Moderna. She was in good health, and had moved into a new assisted living apartment. They told her if she took the vax, and something happened, she could have visitors. So she took it. After the stroke, they moved her to the long-term care side and we barely got to visit her again. Just once a week, for one hour only. She basically died alone. I will never get over it. We were trying to get her out of there when she died.

This is heart-breaking. I am so sorry.

Having been a Hospice nurse and before that a LTC charge nurse on a dementia wing , I agree with all you say . I had a team member literally fight with Diocesan parishes begging for a priest to come and visit clients .

I also had family members begin to cry when they arrived for their family member who was in the active stage of dying ( hour or two before) . They often cry

because of guilt knowing they should have visited but were just too busy. Usually, I snapped them into reality by making sure they knew this time was about their loved ( in name only) one and not about them. I asked them to verbalize happy memories they had together and please reassure the dying that they loved them ,as the sense of hearing is the last to leave.

I hope anyone reading this post realizes that they will someday be lying on their deathbed also.

I agree this is one of the most heartbreaking aspects of this entire catastrophe, and it was part of the inspiration behind my “Letter to a Covidian: A Time Travel Experiment” (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/letter-to-a-covidian-a-time-travel). As I write in that piece:

“… an elderly woman in a wheelchair held up a sign reading, ‘I’d rather die from COVID than loneliness’—a sentiment echoed by millions in nursing homes around the world. What right have you to make that decision for her, for them—for any of us, for that matter?”

Absolutely. We have sacrificed everything else on the altar of preventing one disease and forgotten that life must be worth living. Not to mention the mitigation efforts don't work anyway. What a tragedy.

These covid policies have been the most destructive to the vulnerable, from the elderly to the children. Maddening, to say the least.

Im positive my grandmother, were she alive today, while she possibly would have agreed with the mainstream narrative, as a former lab technician, she NEVER would have agreed to use those younger than her as a shield. It seems to me, in politics and bureaucracy, anyone under the age of 75, seems to be horrifyingly willing to throw everyone younger than them, under the bus, in a desperate scramble to not deal with their own sense of mortality. The world is drowning in the results of their personal existential crisis, and these petty, terrified cowards are climbing onto children in their effort to survive a virus, that has the survivability rate of shallow water. They just need to put their feet down and they'll see they can standup and the "water" is at their ankles. #standupidiots #shieldsneveragain
