I was looking for footprints and noticed a fresh bear track obviously of a very large bear and claw marks clearly defined. I knew it was ahead of us and decided to tell her. I pointed to the print with my walking stick and she stopped abruptly and grabbed my arm. She told me she wanted to retrace our steps back and not take the "loop."
She was sooo cute in her "little girl" concern, looking back all the time and at one point grabbed my arm and never let go until we came back to my truck. I was not worried, the bear was going the other way. I was though aware of cougars in the area as the park staff had told me of this possibility.
I am not angry anymore over the topic of rape. It was displaced a few paragraphs back by my vivid recollection of the facial expressions of this lovely intelligent woman's visage which melted me in its sweetness. That is a good way to end this minor masterpiece of invective. Her pretty face in that incident is still imbedded in my mind and the expressions on that pretty face will stay in my mind as snapshots until the day I die.
Once more so you all understand that the most precious and most beautiful creation of God, was when He was in earnest and created woman. I will be sure today to call her and tell her I cherish her. I know she will love that. How can a closeness and affectionate friendship exist so long with a woman who is far better and more intelligent than I, a veritable walking talking "Venus in blue jeans" who I adore for being who and what she is? Why has this decades old relationship existed without intimate interaction physically?
It is because it is far beyond that. Far deeper, far stronger and far more cherishing and existential in the mind, soul and spirit than a physical relationship could ever attain unto. To become physically intimate would be a desecration of the most beautiful woman I have ever known and destroy the sanctity we share being close to each the other.
Men do NOT understand this, but women do, and women she knows are jealous of how I baby her with no strings attached. It is deeper than what women speak of as "emotional intimacy." I have used enough bandwidth already but will stop here.
Remember, you all have to take back what you give and for sure the verbal affection and cherishment I give her, is returned a thousand fold, easily, for there is no stronger affection and love than that of a woman given exponentially to a man who she trusts, then cherishes, and finally takes into her heart and soul.
While John Gay said, "A woman's friendship ever ends in love," I have found it embodies far more than words could ever describe, and were the blue Arizona skies a parchment, from horizon to horizon, and my pen of pure gold supplied with a tanker truck of guilded ink, I would fail over several lifetimes trying to communicate who and what she is and what she means to me. Her hurt was traumatic, and deep, but it was not that which I noted in her. I feel insufficient compared to her.
She is the inspiration that causeth me to say God's most beautiful, precious and lovely creation is woman. And I dedicate this in part to all the lovely conservative and at times sassy women here, but in whole especially those who have been hurt in any manner.
