I know partial small intestine removal is/was used for weight loss so it seems that a “weight loss” drug that adds small intestine is paradoxical. However, it always appeared to me that overweight/obese people eat habitually whether "hungry" or not. It would stand to reason that continued habitual overeating along with slowed digestion would foster digestive system disease despite artificially-induced weightloss.
