Before you start making excuses for Putin and Russia, think of the state of civil liberties in Russia (protests are not allowed) and the quality of life of the Ukrainians who live in areas illegally occupied by Russia. And talk to a few refugees from southeastern Ukraine so you have firsthand information from real people instead of just the Internet. That’s what I have done.
