SARS-CoV-2 is worse to the immune system than SARS-1. After mild SARS-CoV-2, plasmacytoid dendritic cells do not reconstitute, even after 7 months. In SARS-1 they come back in 7 weeks. In HIV they are also gone irreversibly.

One of the long haulers I've been following has been a very avid experimenter. She is a first waver, developed Long COVID in 2020, was reinfected a few times in 2020 and 2021 despite taking extreme precautions, and received three COVID shots.
This early 50s woman started out as slender, physically fit, and physically active with a couple chronic conditions. The infections triggered over 40 more issues. The second Pfizer shot triggered over 200 issues. Across 2.5 years, she was able to recover to about 95% by doing and taking various things.
One day, she noticed the Chinese treat their infectees with HIV drugs. Her doctor agreed to prescribe Truvada as an HIV preventative. Within a week or so, she was at 100%. At the three-week mark, labs showed negative markers for her kidneys, so she stopped taking that medication recently.
This woman and a few other long haulers shared their blood work. It took a year or longer for all their markers to straighten out. I'll send her the links to these studies and suggest she try finding someone to check her for these other problems.
The recent study on the class switch to IgG4 in the mRNA vaccinated found that COVID exacerbated the problem.
