I understand what you are saying it is a shame they won’t speak out but also remember, it is all a staged show and production, every pro sport is and a lot of the big time college games are!!! Every athlete, starting in college and even now some of the best athletes in high school due to the Name, Image and Likeness program (or whatever it is called) that allows them to make money now off of themselves, are literally schooled and taught what to say, how not to talk ghetto or use slang or street language in interviews!!! These kids now know that one slip up curse word, or not speaking properly in an interview could costs them thousands of dollars in revenue!!! You will never hear a pro player criticize a referee, coach and rarely, if at all, another player; just listen to an interview of a player sometime; they have certain catch and practiced phrases they use over and over and only talk about themselves and what they are doing on the field, how they can improve, what they need to work on!!! If a broadcaster asks them about a bad call what do they say??? Well we understand that that is just part of the game and we can only concentrate and work on what we can control and improve on! It is up to us to win each game by making sure we always play the best we can!!! You will never hear them say, “Yeah that was a bitch ass call, motherfucker needs new contacts or glasses, he can’t see shit and I am so tired of these punk ass refs cheating for the other team, we can never catch a break!!!
So you really think a kid raised in the hood ghetto housing projects in rural Alabama gonna throw away a $20,000,000.00 over 4 year contract by speaking up and saying, “Oh yeah, that clot shot is a real heart destroyer! Wish I had never taken that bitch, but what can you do...”
