Using his logic; IMO, not one penny $ from me. and my x, x, x etc. grand father was a plantation slave. You must not cause harm today for prior actions if this is the thinking.
These narrow minded myopic individuals (students and admin) calling out Prof Rickford appear to be a ideologically imprisoned and unwilling to see what this Professor is pointing out. The foundational principal of life. One’s willingness to fight on in the face of insurmountable odds. I think this is a big missing in America today because we‘ve had it so good for so long; that we have progressively produced generations of weaker, more ignorant and irresponsible self centered individuals. Thank you for Speaking out Prof Rickford in the face of no agreement, ignorance and into the void where responsibility should exist.
Reparations are such a big inverted lie that it’s confusing at first…but not for the initiated. What did Jesus have to say about slavery? But Jefferson somehow was supposed to know better…bs.
I wonder if Rockford felt "exhilaration" when learning of Hamas Islamist terrorists raping young Israeli women and bowing their brains out while their penis was still inserted? He must be terminated immediately, not shamed into some bullshit fake apology.
If you click on the links that I posted, after slavery was abolished in the US, I would entertain a discussion on monetary damages to the victims, or their descendants, by the US Federal Government for their loss of civil right's and/or murder.
I believe that a more rational argument for US "slave reparations" would be that since the passing of the 13th Amendment of the US Constitution , which banned slavery, in 1865, African Americans were systematically terrorized, brutalized, and murdered, with no Federal government action, until the late 1950's. Is this worthy of a judgment to the survivor's?
IT IS NI WONDER OUR HIGHER INSTITUTIONS OF LEARNING ARE TURNING OUT SHIT STUDENTS
This is what happens with Neo-Marxist rhetoric. Since every relationship is about power, violence is justified.

By the way, there are lots of stories of murder and rape of Palestinians from the Israelis who did the deeds.

$5 MILLION DOLLAR MAN. A denizen of San Francisco demands reparations for slavery. Listen to Turfseer’s hit song. https://turfseer.substack.com/p/5-million-dollar-man

I actually don't know what you are talking about, I thought that you were referring to slavery in the USA.
I was referring entirely to slavery reparations in the United States of America. Do you care to discuss this issue, or expand it to the "Caribbean"?
I found a pretty good substack dealing with the Israel/Palestine issue:

What did the attack of Hamas accomplish?
did it improve the lives of the people in Gaza ?
i would say, probably not, but if they think it improved their lives... it seems irrational to me.
