This article may have bits of truth but it feels like a convenient cover story. Truly this article tries to say Fauci and a bunch of American scientists welcomed lock downs because they didn’t know what else to do. I call bullish-t. We need to consider Dr Peter Daszak’s quote in the Nation Academy of Science March 2015 article saying “To sustain the funding base beyond the crisis we need to increase public understanding of the need for MCM (medical counter measures) such as a pan-influenza or pan-coronavirus vaccine. A key driver is the media, and the economics follow the hype. We need to use that hype to our advantage to get to the real issues. Investors will respond if they see profit at the end of the process.”
