A friend of mine has had 3 vaccines, her daughter aged 14 had Covid but has now had the vaccine and her son aged 10 has had covid but contemplating the vaccine for him because they need it for a cruise. Very sad people are putting their health at risk for a holiday! We go to Florida every day but as we’re from the uk we cannot visit as we are not vaccinated, we have to hold the line and wait! Our health is more important and plus we have natural immunity.
Real world effectiveness measured by an odds ratio or absolute risk reduction is the only real measure of utility. I would suggest that both these would show negative values and a positive association with increased case numbers, hospitalizations and death.

It's not 12% effective against omicron. I have done enough analysis of omicron data to know that would be a HUGE over achievement.

Sadly, that will over-ride the public interest/health/wellbeing.
