Anyone of at least average smarts knew from day one that the claims of vaccine effectiveness were just sucker bait for the rubes. There was no way the jab was going to impact the upper airways where the virus infects us so it was never going to prevent infection or transmission. Pfizer knew this. Hard to believe that Emily Oster didn't know it. One would have to have an intellectual disability to have not known it.
My opinion. No ‘Pandemic Amnesty’ for Emily and peers. Critical thinking has been sorely lacking in the sheep-like members of the supposed educated and professional class. First, you kept your head down, you went along to get along, parsed your words for the approval of your peers, looked the other way. Next, you stood behind the messaging, you signaled your support, you encouraged others to accept ‘the program’. Then, when comfortable that you and yours were in the majority and would be rewarded, you condemned others, you suggested methods of encouragement and punishment for those non-compliant. Emily and peers had joined with the oppressors.
No forgiveness, no amnesty. Much information was known - early on- that the risk stratification of Covid varied wildly, and that those above age 80 with multiple comorbidities were at greatest risk. This was known. Also known was that the vaccine (more specifically the gene-therapy injection) was still experimental, not tested on pregnant women, and had no long term safety data. We knew early on that the 95% effective rate was relative risk, not absolute risk- which turned out to be less than 1%. We knew that the Pfizer trials unblinded their control group, that more people died in the vaccinated group than unvaccinated. We knew about Maddie de Garay, the sweet, innocent 12 year old maimed for life during Pfizer’s trials. We knew about the concerning signals around menstrual irregularities, fertility issues and heart damage. We knew about early treatment options like Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine, and that simple OTC’s like vitamin D and Zinc SAVED LIVES. We knew alllll this and more - So much more. BUT - this information and those who shared it were demonized, ridiculed, cancelled, shamed, actually - physically separated and from society. Disallowed from entering or eating indoors, attending events, getting an education - earning a living!!!!!!!! No. No, no, no. No amnesty or forgiveness. As has been said many times now - if you ever wondered how you would have behaved in Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Mussolinian Italy, Ceaușescuian Romania, or China (Maoist or contemporary), now you know.
She probably had panic attacks thinking of others infecting her. These people are really afraid of everything. That's why she's asking for forgiveness. Tell us what you want us to forgive you for, tell us that you feel sorry and maybe we'll talk. On the other hand, you need to take responsibility for your words on the internet that swayed a lot of people to take the lethal injection. What about us? We lost our jobs, our houses, our friends and families, and guess what Emily? We take responsibility for our actions. We took the losses and we created a community of human beings that brought friendships, love and caring for others, and we are still doing it. Forgiveness only comes after repentance. So let them stand and admit their crimes and be sentenced accordingly. Then and only then can we even begin to think about forgiveness.
