Our adult children went to Japan a year before Covid hit for a two week vacation. The people were very polite and everything is very clean, to the point that sometimes is a bit overdone. They sent pictures back of people wearing masks on trains and if they thought they could be sick or too much pollution. Think the mask thing is part of their upbringing. IDK, we don't live like that and won't. We like clean and tidy, but life is more than that.
