yes, EG.5 is currently largest share, but it is only increasing by about 1/3 per two-week period. The "dark horse" is FL.1.5.1 which is more than doubling in each two-week period; money on FL.1.5.1

Unless someone can explain why I should care about all these variants, I am far, far more concerned about the danger of mRNA vactines [Brandon's word] than I am about the danger of a Covid variant.
I'd venture to guess our government's instruction to pharma to prepare a Fall 2023 covid booster has no relation to the expected dominant clade it should "protect" from.
More likely the injections have already been (poorly) manufactured and are ready to be shipped as soon as the FDA and CDC go to the pretense of vetting them for "safety and effectiveness."
