Prof. Bhakdi is a German, not US citizen. He was born in the US (Washington, DC area), but did not apply for US citizenship but chose to become a German instead.
Do you know if he has dual nationality? I doubt Thailand would extradite a Thai, especially someone like Sucharit Bhakdi for trivial, fabricated charges.

All but the most 'high-impact violations set for manual review' will remain on the platform, according to people familiar with the matter.

It wasn't obvious back when he moved to Germany and was working. He did talk about needing to move away last year.
