Great rant! The BBC have been covering Trump's indictment quite gleefully as you can imagine. The other morning they played a short clip of Trump talking about the witch hunt during which he said he received the most votes of any sitting president. At this point the BBC presenter said - BTW that is a lie - it's not true. So I complained and said I expected them to broadcast the correction. This was their reply:

We did indeed make an error, as you describe, in our programme Newsday, on Friday 09/06/23 and we apologise for it.

We plan to run the following correction in Newsday on Monday 12/06/23 between 0700-0730BST / 0600-0630GMT.

The following will be read out in the programme:

"On Friday’s Newsday, when discussing the recent federal charges against President Trump, we broadcast an extract that he had posted on his own social media platform. In it, President Trump said he had secured more votes than any sitting president in the history of the US. At time we said this was incorrect and a lie. We want to acknowledge that President Trump’s claim was in fact CORRECT. And we are happy to put the record straight."

Small win but it made me smile.
