I went from being able to treat my autoimmune disease through diet (lots of meat ) and have enough money to eat very very well. Not in terms of fake bullshit just eggs cheese and meat.
I can hardly afford to feed myself last two months
Beef supply and prices are critical
It’s the last of the megafaunal proportional animals
Your comment reminds me of this warning at my favorite website: "For readers who do advanced preparation to offset prices. THINK BEEF right now, you will thank me four months from now. If you see a deal now, buy it and freeze it now. Anticipate retail ground beef costs be somewhere around $10 to $15/lb by spring to mid 2023 perhaps even higher."
Thank you so much but instinctively I’ve been doing that for a while in terms of always prioritizing beef whenever possible but it’s getting real tough
Honestly I’m gonna prioritize tallow if the butcher can afford to still make it :$
Given your health situation/requirements, I hope you can find a way to get what you need. Any hope of getting a side of beef/eggs from a local rancher/farmer?
Freezing meat is great . But if the power grid goes down & you don't have generator backup that can handle a fridge or freezer long term , you are stuck with all that expensive delicious protein thawing out . I do have quite a bit of meat frozen , but I also pressure can a lot of meat as well as fruits & veggies , soups , etc No , it isn't as always enjoyable as fresh meat , but it is good , already cooked ( it literally cooks in the jar ) & very tender .
Thank you so much I’ll have to get educated and experienced...At this point taste is not a factor for food I just want to pain and depression to go away because this having to buy poison for calories is not working for me. And freezer has been a bottleneck
I thought from the beginning that it is the young families, particularly so, single parents doing it tough. It is hard for a young family to live in a camping spot to hugely save on accommodation costs. This is most tragic indeed.

I’m Canada those prices quoted by your friend might be before 23 if you take into account the quality of cuts has also dropped

At the beginning of plandemic was probably the cheapest meat had been because all the bullshit was absurdly high.
Look at the price of ANYTHING in Canada that you could have eaten 100 years ago.
The price is like 25-200% more expensive
The grocery stores are onto the fact the poor are waiting for the meat to get close to expiring and are now just buying less.
The meat section size at maxi is perpetually half stocked and not because people are buying but because they’re being forced to put back too often
The square footage being dedicated to meat , specifically beef has shrunk like 50% in the last year at my local Maxi
I wonder how well the U.S. subsidized Ukrainian politicians are eating these days?
