Thanks for the clarification on Rule 26. An indictment alone should not be cause for disqualification. It's still innocent until proven guilty (in a fair, non-partisan trial).
If Jordan or anyone other than Trump becomes Speaker he or she needs to do 2 things ASAP: 1) He or she needs to.appoint Trump to be Speaker Ex Tempore; & 2) He or she needs to resign so that Trump rises immediately to the position. It is disgusting that McCarthy did not appoint Trump Speaker Ex Tempore instead of McHenry. If he had done so then Trump would right now be in the Speaker's role with all the powers of Speaker and Dem and RINO heads would be exploding. But it's not too late and better late than never. It can be done now and could circumvent RINO attempts to block Trump from becoming Speaker. On becoming Speaker, Trump could defund Deranged Jack Smith and take charge of the impeachments of Biden and Harris.
