Back then there was strict criteria on when patients recovering from a cardiac event could safely be transported on board a pressurized aircraft due to the stressors of flight. Its been awhile and I have no idea whether or not criteria has changed. With these rule changes being put in, are Flight Surgeons being ordered do as told? Military & civilian. Steve Kirshner sent a letter to the FAA. A FOIA request from a cardiologist especially would be interesting.
