Ok Eliza, I happen to agree with you. So what’s next? The results are disastrous.
Again, is everyone going to sit on their asses and do nothing or will you spend the half hour on Election Day to try to make things better?
People who don’t bother to vote are part of the reason that we are in this mess.
Mark your frustration with people's cowardice and propensity toward inaction is well founded.
I would hesitate to use the word, 'everyone', because that contributes to the demoralization of which you aptly identify and complain about. The yielding to the idea that "everyone" is inactive--yes, I understand that you meant it in an hyperbolic sense--also distracts you from acknowledging acts of heroism and success.
It is not that individuals on our "team" need to have medals placed on them, but rather it is that we need to hear about their acts of simple triumph because we can learn tactics from them---and it is encouraging.
Mark's emphasis though has been on Trump and Washington DC. The fastest, most effective way to get control of the government is to focus local. If the local and state governments are no longer taking bribes from the feds and doing their bidding, Washington DC will dry up. They only have the power they have because that's what everyone focuses on, while barely even knowing anything about their city council, who their sheriff is etc. The wisdom of the Framers of the Constitution --- stay local. It doesn't mean don't vote in federal elections. It means, don't expect federal elections to effect much in the way of change, at least not until the states clean up their electoral process, which has been a state problem for a long time. Goes much further back than 2020.
Dvorah, I do not disagree. One huge challenge is that even on the local level, the people that would seem to generally agree with you and me (whatever that is, but let's just say), are so scattered and mixed in their allegiances. Further, they are--in many cases--not capable of attention for more than (literally, 60 seconds) rational thought (ratios, analogies, logical sets, syllogistic as well as probabilistic thinking, political action theory, etc.) or an understanding or the real foundations of the virtues and justice. In short, their minds and been largely evacuated by TV, movies and the captured educational system and what remains has been further damaged. While they may have some inklings of something being wrong, they are difficult to have discussions with and even more difficult to move toward clear thinking and coordinated action. Good speeches do not work because they have no internal receivers to which goods ideas can bind. These people will often simply turn on those who most have their interests at heart and have good ideas for solutions. They reject good food and good medicine because the cultural toxins have destroyed normal reactions the good.
Sadly, many are addicted to their own demise.
But I am not giving into pessimism, I am only saying that those of us, like those commenting here today have a significant challenge in figuring out how to overcome these things even at the local level. But to reiterate, yes, localism is the real place to begin while we do our best at the national or, even, international levels.
I don't know where you live but my experience when attending primaries and caucuses was the opposite. My neighbors were intelligent, thoughtful and understood the issues very well. Maybe my experience has been in a less decadent part of the country.
Perhaps. Most of the nation, especially the rural areas and the dissolving cities, are more like I described in my Substack post today, re: Senator Kennedy's inept statement aping tough talk, but tough talk for dummies and Normies.
And you’re right... I don’t mean everyone. I just can’t understand how otherwise intelligent, engaged people just seemingly can’t be bothered to simply vote (and try to demoralize people into not voting). Many elections in recent years have been won by razor thin margins and every vote is needed. I’m well aware of the problems, but if the elections were completely rigged, the democrats (who support the WEF’s goals) wouldn’t try so hard to cheat.
They are trying to impose an fascist style government in this country and this may really be the last chance to get them out. Of course I don’t know if it will work.....
But I know what won’t.
And I believe that this country and form of government are worth saving . I don’t believe in just letting evil win.
Do you go to the primary or caucus in your state? Voting for the electors pledged to your candidate is more important than participating in the popular vote. For sure, both matter, but....Trump is not your savior and none of those votes will matter unless each citizen of each state works to clean up their electoral process. The corruption is at the state level and it's because people don't participate in that process. Again -- that involves getting your local and state government in line. Takes far more knowledge, far more time, and is far more effective.
Realize our country is infiltrated and fallen. Work on securing a local food supply and organize with others to defend your family and neighbors from threats. Find ways to keep warm and get around without electric power or gas. Don't keep much money that's not ready cash. Especially not in big chain banking systems. And buy precious metals and pay off your mortgage.

Thank you for that, I appreciate it.
I do get frustrated.

Getting off my soapbox now....

If taking a whole half hour out of your day to vote in federal elections is the extent of your effort, then you and people like you are the problem.
Talk about a problem with reading comprehension.....
That's all you've offered. That and insults. How about you propose some solutions besides Trump?
