We can still own a gun down here but we have to tell the police where the guns are and they have to be stored safely and away from the ammunition. Kind of defeats the purpose if one is concerned about the government. We don't have a 2nd amendment like in the USA.

In Rogerson's state of NSW the police failed to solve many suspicious deaths of male homosexuals. Eventually someone was arrested for the death of an American gay. Contrary to what the New York Times reported, in the article below, police themselves are suspected of many of the murders. Today, police march in pride parades, although they are banned from doing so currently, following the recent murder of two more gays, apparently by a gay cop. Many of the Australian states hold commissions of inquiry into police corruption every few decades. The inquiries typically find that police are trafficking drugs and nvolved in extortion, prostitution and gambling rackets. It's "Serpico" like. Reforms are implemented then by the time the next inquiry is held it finds the problem is as entrenched as ever. Rogerson killed a lot of drug dealers but he then put the drugs back out on the streets. Similar things happened in other states. The police commissioner who introduced the vaccine mandates in Queensland, and resigned recently under pressure, was an honest cop but she loved the clot shots and under her the unjabbed were treated as dangerous extremists. She'll go to the US where her daughter is, loaded with loot.
Yes, Whitey Bulger and Anthony Fauci do come to mind.

I wonder how certain individuals become corrupt within a corrupt environment and others, recognizing the corruption and/or temptation, find more personally suitable enployment -- or somehow succeed in maintaining their values within a corrupt system
I suppose their motivations and degree of idealism, greed, authoritarianism, and/or vigilantism going into law enforcement play a great part.
There are many good police who do go into policing out of noble or altruistic motives. They face a real challenge
Unfortunately, police is the number 3 most preferred occupation of psychopaths, after CEO and then lawyer.
I know a non-psychopath Trump supporting lawyer in Australia who has met the Queensland police commissioner who introduced the vaccine mandates for police. He commented as follows:
When I met her, about 8 years ago (she had just been in charge of the G20 security operation), she did have a couple of kids, the oldest one from memory being 9 or 10.
Her hubby was a pretty rough Black Irish looking, in a bronco's [football team] singlet and footy shorts and thongs [flip flops], for the Sunday lunch. He had no airs and graces, or professional gloss... I don't know what he did for a living, but he came across like a tradesman who liked his beer and footy, and was probably very uninvolved with her ambitions, aside from the extra cash coming in.
In person, she had a guileless quality, common to rural ethnic girls... very straight, not at all intellectual, and a basic paleo conservative, in the Catholic country mode.
She was no doubt a big blonde alpha prefect netballer at school in the bush and proudly one of the 'normal' 'square' types whose primary ambition would have from the start been to maintain her Goody Two Shoes Leader role in society.
Whilst not being brilliant in any way, and absent a predilection for booze or outrage, she would have been a consistent plodder, who got her self esteem through systematically progressing through the ranks, and being seen as an important decent copper....
She was probably very effective as a scary operational officer... tough minded ideologically and possessed of a deep sense of self righteous missionary zeal ... locking up the 'bad' people... the ones she would have seen at a distance in the pubs in the bush with their indigenous girlfriends. The netherworld she eschewed and avoided growing up.
Notwithstanding that the Yugoslav community there had its fair share of rugged individualists who profited from the 'agricultural' black market.
Unfortunately she was the ultimate useful idiot to be one of the operatives for peddling the virtues of the Clot Shot, while being exempted from taking it herself...
I would say that like many of those rural ethnic girls, any misjudgement would be justified in the cause of being a good daughter to her immigrant parents, increasing the prestige of her family and community within the new country...
And Like all the stars of 2020, she is exiting stage left, and getting out of Dodge, with her saddlebags loaded with loot.
As to her replacement it used to be that there was a gentleman's agreement between the warring Catholic and Masonic sects within the force, whereby they would take turns to appoint a commissioner....
I don't know if that applies, as the government probably wants another female, or maybe a homo, to replace her?
Otherwise it should be a Freemason, if the tradition is upheld.
THANKS very much for sharing the Australian lawyer's impressions and incisive descriptions of the Queensland police commissioner who introduced the vaccine mandates for police. (And her husband!) A fascinating personal analysis with far-reaching social commentary. Very instructive.
Btw, I've also noticed that "consistent plodders" tend to move up the ranks in many areas. Joe Biden, for example.
It will be interesting to see how accurate the predictions about her successor turn out to be.
While I deeply care about safety in the home, what good is an unloaded gun without ammunition nearby in the event of an emergency where a loaded gun would be your only defense?
I understood that, Bucking the Trend. Thanks for your two comments.
I was stunned to learn about the restrictions, including the necessity of telling the government the location where you keep your guns.
Because I follow "ExcessDeathsAU," I've become aware of the appalling policies of the Australian government but did not know how your hands were tied with respect to the practical use of the guns you're allowed to own.

Roger Rogerson, Australia's most highly decorated police officer was a stickler fir being told where the guns are.

Cold-blooded killer without a conscience.
My mind wandered to Whitey Bulger and Anthony Fauci while I read the linked article.
Unrepentant personalities.

A homo Freemason would be perfect..

re Warring Catholic and Masonic sects....
Only tiny # of Catholics.
Church of Francis controlled by masons and commies
True Catholics do not acknowledge or support Francis as Pope.
God bless you!

It's not good. Just letting you know what they do to us in Australia.
I understood that, Bucking the Trend. Thanks for your two comments.

PS: Queensland state supreme court just ruled against the mandates.

Thank you. A detailed and informative article.
You have Natural Right, before God and all mankind to have gun, sufficient ammo etc.
Commies want your guns, not good folks.
2nd Amendment is nice, but if criminals repealed it, WE WOULD STILL KEEP OUR GUNS. IN FACT, TRY TO GET MORE
