The NFL threw America under the bus, and then forced their players under the bus too. Disgusted.

Haven't watched them in years.

I fired the NFL when they put pink shoes on the players. That silly stunt never prevented or cured a single case of cancer. The money wasted on making those shoes, which the players threw away as soon as they were no longer required to wear them, could have been used to put a bright young biology student through PhD school for cancer research. Wouldn't it be ironic if the workers who made the pink shoes in 3rd world sweatshops got cancer from the pink dye?

That's called "opportunity cost". That's the biggest reason tax extortion is such a great burden on the economy. Free market forces always eventually punish the body politic that tries to "manage" it or "direct" it or "improve" things.

A false balance is an abomination. Fiat currency is the biggest contortion.

Players have the option to walk away.

Repeating traumatic injuries to spine and brain especially in rapid sequence is a leading cause of early dementia and neuro degenerative problems. The best way to prevent further trauma is to retire. Any other decision is to say I’ll take my chances. Freedom of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness is. Choose wisely is my advice.

Retire - and sue

Sue for what? No one is forcing him on to the field.

Like they don't already know you can get hurt playing football?

I played a lot of ice hockey. Most players when concussed will want to continue to play. Been there done that.

It is the responsibility of the team doctor and coaches to overrule a player and pull him out of the game if he's sustained a head injury. That is their JOB.

I watched the Bills game and Tua could barely walk after getting slammed. That was NOT a back injury as they are claiming -- he was wobbling all over the place. That was clearly a significant head injury (his head whiplashed and smacked the turf when he was pushed by Milano...

I could not believe that he came back out for the second half.

Then 4 days later he's put back out there again.

This is on the doctors who said he was ok to play -- and the coaches. There is no way he should have continued against the Bills and no way he should have played 4 days later. The second head injury quite possibly will end his career.

Sue for $$$ that he would have earned in the event he can no longer play.

Are you an actual coach? If you coach a contact sport then you are a disgrace - I'd hate to have played for someone like you.

"Choose wisely is my advice."

Excellent advice.

To choose not to play sports which regularly damage the brains of the players is to choose wisely.

I could not believe my eyes at this 2nd hit on him in just 4 days, watched both plays after the fact and said this needs to be the end of his football career if he values his life. It’s not like he is a soldier on the battlefield who wants to get back out there with his brothers in arms. Winning, money and fame is a very powerful influence if the decision is to be his.

And you have to take into the consideration the physicians hopefully aren’t being pressured by the franchise to make a bad judgement call on his behalf.

the physicians are most definitely pressured to make assessments that get players back on the field

Agree 100%. And money talks.

when everyone understand what these injuries do, the NFL behaviour is criminal, and I agree he must retire

People get so focused on succeeding in one aspect of life for job. When you are confident in a Creator G_D, you might have some fear, natural, but life goes on. You have life in the morning when you rise, go out and engage yourself in the world. You'll find a job. Go back to school. Get a job in Government. Change things! Volunteer and be kind to onesnother. Don'tlose hope. .

Why are some people so hesitant about spelling the word GOD (G_D)? Is it a bad word? Lol...just an observation, no offense intended.

It's usually a Jewish thing. Most I've seen "spell" it G-d." It's to pay Him the respect He is due. They feel spelling His name out is like saying you are His equal. By not spelling it out, you are showing Him the respect and deference He deserves. --- This is as close as I can remember how my Jewish boss explained it to me about 17 years ago.

I’ve never heard that before.

Personally, I want to yell it and write GOD as much as humanly possible because I love Him so much! Interesting…

yes, Orthodox and many Conservative Jews are taught to spell God G-d because he is so holy etc. it is to show that mere human mortals cannot say his name.

Spelling GOD gives the Creator praise.

Not sure. Thinking it’s ‘controversial’ in today’s world and if you spell it out, they’ll remove it🙄just my thought.

I can't believe that they let him play again after the initial injury. That was irresponsible of the coach.

Once you make the adult decision to play the game you cannot depend on a third party to decide whether the risk of playing is unacceptable. Tua needs to make adult decisions in his own best interest.

I watched both incidents - horrifying.

I could not believe he was allowed to go back in after half time during the Bills game. He was clearly concussed and barely able to walk after that hit.

And then he's allowed to play again less than a week later - and is hit even harder.

The law suits are gonna fly if he's got significant brain damage

What is wrong with these teams? Win at all cost - even if it costs you your franchise QB?

Beyond stupid.

Absolutely! Saw the play and the hands ... Horrific... Quit now... right Now... what good is a Super Bowl win if you end up paralyzed or a vegetable after retirement..

gotta say that they don't make 'em like they used to- in high school did a piledriver at the shallow end of the pool [could feel the spine compress at impact]...ffwd to more goofs-a dozen m/bike crashes,3 of wch were from inept car drivers , roofing, skiing, head butting car frames while working as a mechanic [coupled with a surfeit of CO poisoning], 3 auto crashes...but TBH, the biggie was the cab going thru the red light& tboning the yammie...total amnesia for 3 years of university...
