In Ontario, Canada (sometimes referred to as Canuckistan) LTC homes are oft understaffed and undersupplied. Diligent nurses and attendants will sometimes double-shift because they know their patients will be severely neglected due to staff shortages and, sadly, indifferent caregivers. It’s all about the money. There needs to be a reckoning, not just over covid deaths in LTC homes, but in the way they are owned and run. Long overdue.

Every doctor ever has wanted me on statins. My current PCP prescribed one "that's different." Yeah, it also costs $300 a month, after insurance. --- The price made a realistic excuse that the doctor believed for why I wouldn't take it. 👍😏
My husband was just prescribed a statin and I'm having him take a cholesterol complex with red yeast rice & Coq10, alpha lipoic acid and flaxseed. Also a high quality Omega 3 fish oil.
In the past when I read up on statins, the two most common side effects were muscle weakness/pain and memory problems.

Lipitor nearly killed me back in 2000-2004, permanently weakened muscles, current cramping relieved by CoQ10 (in about 1 hour from ingestion. Statins damages mitochondria, apparently permanently. Also, beware of general anesthesia, my '92 bypass took 3 years for short term memory to return to normal Also, statins damaged my kidneys, by half in 33/4 years, stable since 20004, medium level failure, I stopped meds on my own, kidney clinic didn't know what would happen, but I was fortunate, in that it stabilized. I currently have about 130 IQ, had been 150 back in engineering college, CIT. So there can be some hope for Dx toxic drugs, chemicals, for at least some, provided too much damage hasn't been done. Also, I'm a strong vegetarian, pesco, implementing the latest nutritional research that makes sense, to me with my health care background. Ten years ago, I went over to Pesco vegetarian, with Ornish diet saving my cardio totally, plus omega3 esters, Rx strength, D3, lysine 1G, B12, 18/6 restricted fasting daily, and occasional 2-3 day fast, which is easy for me, since I am metabolically flexible, + more. I'm 82, now, BTW, conservative, Christian, feel vital and passionate enough that I may have 5 to 20 years more, with good mental and adequate physical condition, FYI. Whatever our Creator God has ordained, as I have saved 6 lives so far, medically. Of course, unvaxxed w/ covid, but no more vaxxes of any kind anymore, after what I've finally researched, having been cautioned by a pharmacist friend for years.
I have now no trust in most institutions, fields, of all kinds, anymore but trust my own knowledge, instincts, and scholarly research, which is exceptional, in medicine and most other segments of life. (I trust in our Creator, God, Lord, who I can see the reality, created all that we sense, our bodies and universe having infinite complexity, which we will never know, but we can tease out somethings in our beings, of their infinite complexity. Interrelationships of complexities, are what show me there can only be an infinite Creator, behind it all, I have not enough faith available for accidental happenings, considering the reality of exponential probabilities, in statistical analysis of happenings in chemistry, alone!)
People can do it, learn. Never in history has access been so available to the individual human, free for a laptop, even on some smartphones, to become as knowledgeable as any journeyman or other expert, even to the point of learning how to do useful research, in many fields of life. We got a call from NH (precovid) that my MIL had taken a turn for the worse and only had a few days left. I asked my husband how do they know that? Now I know. They kept coming in with meds even when she was unconscious. My grandparents didn’t have these 48 hr scheduled deaths.

I had an NDE while hospitalized with Covid. I was given Remdesiver. Looking at my labs while hospitalized my kidneys and liver were both struggling/failing. The numbers were not good and I personally believe it was the Remdesiver that almost killed me. I had no

I survived but one year later I am still trying to get over the neglect, mistreatment (I was unvaccinated and continually harassed and gaslit) and knowing that so many have suffered and died. For a lot of the people with Alzheimer's, the root cause is statins. --- As with everything else....make 'em sick, kill 'em off.
