How about sacrificing a few gang members apprehended as illegal aliens to the gallows to discourage many of these ingrates from illegally crossing borders and even cause some of these criminals to return pronto to their own nations.
Sacrifice and violence will always work when nothing else will. Drastic? Well what would you prefer? A dead child or a dead criminal? Take your pick.

As to end times, I believe we are just sliding into them and that the antichrist is already here but only God the Father knows when that day will come.
