My legs felt odd. I had a sinking sensation in my hips. Blood work and an MRI were done and I was sent home.
Three days after that I told my wife, I felt like I drank poison. My whole body felt different. I went to bed at 10 o'clock at night, I woke up at 2 o'clock in the morning paralyzed from the diaphragm down.
I was transported to the hospital and admitted to the covid 19 unit. Took several days to figure out what was happening. The doctors were uncertain how to treat me. They'd never treated anybody with these problems before and they could not decide on a diagnosis. Eventually they found out I had a blood clot in my leg. My entire spine cord had swollen and hemorrhaged. I aspirated on water. Placed on a ventilator, I was in ICU for two weeks.
I was worried, concerned. My wife panicked about my condition. My life as I knew it was gone. All total I spent 105 days in St. Luke's Regional Hospital, Saint Alphonsus Rehab Center in Boise, Idaho, and the University of Utah's Craig Neilsen's Rehab Hospital.
I have had multiple MRIs, CAT scans, EKGs, X-rays, spinal angiograms, spinal taps, autoimmune blood tests, muscle biopsies. Everything has come back negative in an attempt trying to pin my paralysis on my body and not the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Today I am unemployed paraplegic who is learning an entire new lifestyle. And the only thing I did between full health and my current condition is take a shot. I am real. My symptoms are real. And my life forever has changed. And that is real.

[reading:] "In August Benny was getting ready to start his freshman at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. He was on the men's track team and the coach encouraged the athletes to get vaccinated to avoid mandatory testing three times a week. So on August 13th 2021 Benny rolled up his sleeve and received his first dose of Moderna.
"He came home on September 11th to celebrate his 19th birthday and received his second dose. Nine hours later his friends brought him home because he could not drive. His body was in shock. He was having difficulty breathing, chest pain, trembling, his hands and feet were turning blue. We rushed him to the ER where he had an EKG and was given antihistamine and sent home.
"He returned to Eau Claire and felt worse as the week went on. The campus doctor ordered tons of tests. All were normal except for the d-dimer. On September 21st he experienced a non-epileptic seizure and his friends rushed him to the ER yet again. More tests, no answers.
"On November 7th in the school dining hall he was experienced his worst seizure. He was incoherent, couldn't walk or use the phone. His friends rushed him to the ER yet again.
"This episode was very difficult to recover from and left him stranded in his dorm for nearly a week. He was weak, dizzy, had a headache, chest pain, and could not walk without help. He had lost 16 pounds.
"Through his faith in God he persevered and was able to complete the fall semester, but his dreams of competing with the men's track team were demolished.
"He had been a three sport athlete since first grade. And not being active was crippling. He was often left out of social activities and gatherings due to his new disability of not being able to get around campus. He had suddenly aged 60 years. It was like he was an 80 year-old man.
"Before all of this he was healthy. We never incurred medical expenses before. An entire semester's worth tuition, room and board on medical expenses.
"Thank you for listening to Benny's story. I truly hope legislators will be leaders of empathy and compassion and acknowledge the vaccine can harm a person's immune system, circulatory system, nervous system, and surrounding tissues, causing lasting adverse effects of which drastically change a person's life, a young 20 year-old in this case.
