Apparently another trick that was used to create a deceiving impression was they would start the calculation before vaccinations were widely available, thereby all prior Covid19 deaths were, by necessity, unvaccinated. This had the effect of grossly exaggerating the ratio between unvaccinated/vaccinated. It would then take months for this to be over come. Once the vaccinated finally caught up to the unvaccinated (including all deaths prior), the governments stopped with the graphs etc.
Exactly! And as soon as the vaccination campaign tapered off, the hospital stats suddenly showed the admission and death rates to be higher amongst the jabbed than the unjabbed. Many jurisdictions have now stopped identifying vax status in public reporting.

In the US, we need accurate and truthful hospital EHR system(s) with mechanisms that prevent ""rigging" the numbers of vaccinated vs. unvaccinated persons (and/or mistakenly identifying vaccination status) in hospitals. With current crippled system(s) (..... or perhaps by design?) the numbers can be easily altered to misrepresent the number of vaccinated individuals who are in hospital settings and subsequently sick or dying. This is perhaps a complex issue and involves a lot of IT plus hospital protocols, training, etc. and of course, the desire to use whatever is put in place in an honest way. (Not sure if this is still the case, but from back in Mar. 2021 IEEE Spectrum report: "If you get the shot at a local hospital that is affiliated with your doctor, the vaccination information might show up in your electronic health record (EHR).
