I always check out the funding before taking a study at its word, and this study's funding looks particularly suspect given that BigPharma has a vested interest in discrediting a natural plant with medicinal properties that threaten its products/profits:
"Funding: This research was funded by a research award grant from The Lung Association - Ontario. The Lung Association - Ontario received unrestricted funding from Tetra-Bio Pharma to independently administer the grant competition. The funding sources had no role in any aspect of the research or writing processes, which were authors' alone. This study was supported by ICES, which is funded by an annual grant from the Ontario Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC). Parts of this material are based on data and information compiled and provided by: MOH; Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI); and, Cancer Care Ontario (CCO)."
