And yet people wear N95 masks as though they are protecting themselves from what is going around...is that possible? What are the reports on past colds and the wearing of masks in school, on the job...before covid. How would that have gone over?

People expect dentists and surgeons to wear them, and gloves too, when performing dental or surgical procedures.
