That has been eroded decades ago. What has the CDC ever done to save anyone from anything? If a massive death virus (a real one) swooped down from the heavens, the CDC would be worthless. They couldn't even get their lies working for a simple coronavirus that was maybe harmful to less than 1% of the population.

They were implicated in ghost-writing misleading papers published in academic journals, as part of the attempt by Forest Laboratories to gain approval for an anti-depressant called citalopram in children. The trials showed no benefit and potentially serious harm but Weber Shandwick helped cover-up to get approval. Ultimately, they were exposed in a court case.
