ENT doctors use it topically, so 1.5 ounces of water and spray it up the nose, swish it and spit out, twice a day? kills virus dead; doctors use in acute treatment each 4 hours; hydrogen peroxide also
I tried the Mouthwash as a suspension method with Q Tips for the nose and I caught Covid quite bad aferwards. I think the spray method would have been more effective because it would go down your nasal passages and applied to more surface area. The Qtips only can reach a couple inches in.
More on other and easy to implement prophylaxis methods:
Salt as a potent antibacterial & antiviral agent ? "Antiviral activity against a broad range of viral infections (HSV-1, MHV68, RSV, Influenza, HCoV-229E) can be augmented by increasing availability of NaCl." - https://twitter.com/B33Mello/status/1446548741981409296 (thread with lots of references)

At least in Spain we have oral betadine. You still must dilute but I guess tha flavor is not as bad
