One can benefit from a ketogenic diet without being on one by taking Beta Hydroxy Butyrate 10 to 15 grams a day. This is the main ketone the body makes when it goes into ketosis.
It seems that BHB has anti-cancer potential but supplementing with it may not be so good for patients with diagnosed or undiagnosed pancreatic cancer.

Thanx for this information. We can take nothing for granted and must always do our own research. Today someone said to me that she wished she could take what doctors say for granted. This made me cringe and I said her that people need to stop being lazy and assume a lot of responsibility for themselves. At least she accepted and agreed with this statement. But here immediate response is so typical of people, especially those who do not like to read/research.
Far from being an expert on this I have read the importance of Butyrate for gut health and metabolism in the body to say it simply.
My concern with studies that only look at one thing is they never look at the whole picture. With diet, where people have such different, individual characteristics, it is very hard to make general statements as this study does suggest. I know a number of people who have been on the keto diet for great lengths of time without negative consequences, only positive statements. Currently I am following a detox diet as describedy by Andrew Kaufman, MD. Some people on this journey are eating only Beef, Bacon, Butter and Eggs plus a mineral supplement. Kaufman actually promotes this kind of diet on a regular basis which horrifies me. My detox diet choice is all plant based even eliminating nuts, seeds, and most carbs and absolutely nothing processed. I do much better on this vegan diet altho cannot wait to add back some protein like eggs and raw milk yogurt and seeds. These are extreme diets IMHO but it demonstrates the individual differences that must be taken into account.
"One notable finding in mouse models of breast cancer was that while the ketogenic diet suppressed primary tumor growth, it unexpectedly promoted the spread (metastasis) to other organs like the lungs. This effect was linked to a specific protein, BACH1, which suggests the diet may not be appropriate for all cancer types or stages.
Diets high in certain fats may be problematic for some patients, particularly those with obesity where high lipids in the blood can fuel the growth of specific, aggressive forms of breast cancer like triple-negative breast cancer."
They behave as if mRNA is the next best thing to chocolate (LOL). They are using it in all kinds of medicines, food, and anything else they can concoct.
It is cheap and requires relatively little ingredients. And it can all be patented.
What frightens me is the use of aerosolized vaccines which means they can infect us without our knowledge much less our consent. So much for the Nuremberg mandate of never forcing drugs or medical treatments on people!
great sharing by ANW...to be honest, I engage in intermittent to keep liver healthy...key to me more than anything is the liver needs a rest daily...and also I only take a drink etc. on weekends.

That is funny.. I GOT MINE.. well.. let's see now: isn't that the CRY OF EVERY SUPER SELFISH GENERATION. Ok.. kidding. I do remember him.. and he is a decent musician.
Put the blame where it belongs. The medical professionals in the USA for many decades have been lied to, educated improperly and manipulated to do the bidding of Big Medicine and Big Pharma. Professor John Abraham is a known British sociologist of science and medicine (University of Sussex), who has written extensively on pharmaceutical regulation, drug safety, and the politics of medicine—notably works like Science, Politics, and the Pharmaceutical Industry and Evidence-based Policy or Policy-based Evidence? He’s widely recognized for exposing regulatory capture in drug oversight agencies (like the MHRA (England) and FDA). Coming this year is his book: Pharmacutilization of Medicine is a forthcoming
Spot on with GLP1. Two thirds of weight loss is from muscle cell degradation! GLP! is causing fatalities. FDA doesn't employ the best and brightest medical gate keepers. Put the blame where it belongs. Our medical colleges curriculum is skewed to support the goals of the allopathic medicine model that dominates our treatment approach to disease states. Big Pharma influences what is taught. and what is ignored, including the central role of good nutrition for good health.
I as well as millions of other medical professionals were taught that more than 1000 iu's of vitamin D taken daily is poisonous. The BIG lie that is still perpetuated today. Why? You don't grow the allopathic medicine model if all adults had sufficient Vitamin D to turn on the 3000 gene expressions that require the hormonal form of D to function properly to maintain good health when required. Being deficient supports the polypharmacy game being played.
Try listening to the evidence from 1000's who already do a NO carb diet!
No Carb life on YouTube is one of MANY!
Fatty liver is a direct result of eating too much carbohydrate, the sugar is converted to triglycerides in the liver!
Fat is broken down into ketones, which are twice as efficient at converting energy in the Mitochondria!
The best way to reverse fatty liver is a NO CARB diet!
This is now well studied and well known
Shame on you for pushing this BS, you of all people should Know better
Let Dr Ken Berry, Dr Anthony Chaffee, Dr Eric Westman, Dr Shawn Baker, Dr Georgia Ede, Dr Annette Bozworth, Dr Ben Bickman or a host of other highly qualified people give you a proper lesson in metabolic function, and stop repeating big pharma nonsense!
We have to be careful about drawing many conclusions from mice. Our researchers are excellent about curing cancer in mice, but as someone who has spent two decades+ investing in various cancer treatment companies that had early good mice data showing efficacy, many didn't pan out for humans. I think the same can be true with things like making dietary determinations. Mice have a much higher metabolism than humans. They get 50-65% (Grok) of their calories from carbs. Most of their fats come from seed oils. Both of those are not good for humans. There is only so much correlation between mice/human physiology. It's why the food pyramid was such a scam. It was like a mouse diet. We ballooned up on it. Chub city. If we feed humans a wild mice's diet, their health outcomes would not be good.
If they want to run a study, pick a normal human with no issues in their 20's and give them a solid keto diet for a year (grass-fed beef, eggs, dairy, etc. and limit the veggies that put out self-defense compounds that cause inflammation). A mouse being given a human diet is not good for the mouse. Same with a human being given a mouse diet.
Always interesting when archeologists examined early American Indian remains, (skeletal examples), prior to their use of grains, such as corn, they were taller, healthier, no cavities, not much typical disease evidence such as heart disease, then after the advent of eating grains, they were shorter, and displayed the typical diseases, plus lots of dental cavities.
issue to me is cutting carbs is critical but not entirely at least 10% to fuel brain...not too much protein as too much stress on kidneys...and not too much fat...as we see possible fatty liver etc. so a balancing act. I say 60% protein, 30 fats, 10 carbs??? you? but carbs is the key to metabolic syndrome, disease that plagues us today e.g. high waist circumference male and female, high blood sugar, high BP, high fats/lipids/cholesterol etc. a quartet of problematic risk factors that together make up metabolic disease. plague of the western societies and actually even 3rd world developing nations. we eat high carbs in west as we are glutinous and big agri and business push it to make money etc. shelf life addiction etc. and poor nations each it for all they can afford eg. high starched food. etc.
Totally absurd to follow the same ratio for all ages and sexes. What is not taken into account is how grains have been literally destroyed via glyphosates, organic dairy products a joke thanks to ultra pasturization and Pfzier's gmo altered rennet in 95% of all cheese. The list goes on and on.Keto would work great if we had access to wild turkey and wild game, ate organic eggs that had zero grains in their diet and consumed truly fresh vegetables and fruit with some wild foraged greens thrown in.
I ate a macrobiotic diet in my 20's which had a huge amount of carbs( including vegetables and beans) but also seaweed, fermented products and seed oils.No sugar, processed foods and very little animal food) But that was 50 years ago ago-- when my gut was a lot stronger, I was far more active and a lot poorer.
I eat a lot more animal food today, but it's mostly in the form of tinned sardines, tuna or salmon, chicken or calf liver, organic eggs and ground free range beef (1-2 xs a week)I use a fair amount of organic butter and milk or cream in teas.
I also consume a lot of avocado and plantains and banana. They are all abundant and cheap here in the high desert where I live. I also eat plenty of pecans, pumpkin, sunflower, flax and chia seeds along with dried fruit and some citrus, and apples and when in season mango.
I just turned 79 and use plenty of herbs, supplements, fast and never drink alcohol.
I am often altering my diet depending upon season and personal needs plus I like variety. I also never eat out. I am the thinnest I have ever been as an adult and very grateful to be alive.
At no time in human History have people ever had access to so much food --however, the biggest problem is that most of it has been deliberately turned into crap.
The idea behind ketogenic diet is that ketones are far superior for brain energy vs glucose, but the longterm effects of liver and low testosterone are problematic.
This is why I personally do a ketogenic diet with carb loading to coincide with heavy lifting, etc.
The ketogenic rule is no more than 50 net carbs (subtracting fiber from the total carb amount)......

Modified keto diet with selective carb cycling is optimal, and w/out carbs testosterone production drops off.
Also, most weight loss from ketogenic diet in first 30 days is water weight....
