And note here that Pfizer previously designed a viral protein vaccine using the C19 spike protein and it was considered a failure because the adaptive immune response was insufficient to prevent a noticeable clinical case of C19 compared to the adaptive immune response gained in the course of an infection with the actual C19 virus.
Why?
Because when infected with the actual virus, your adaptive immune system, if not impaired, will produce specific antibodies and T cells against ALL the viral proteins encountered by the innate immune system and presented by it to the adaptive immune system. This is equivalent to a broad spectrum antibiotic: you have a multitude of ways to detect and knock off the virus.
But after Pfizer’s failure with the viral protein vaccine using a single antigen, they did the unthinkable. Instead of increasing the variety of viral antigens in the absence of viral infection of healthy cells, they opted to keep the same inadequate viral antigen while CAUSING healthy cells to be infected with viral genes AND to be attacked by the innate immune system. No advantage gained, only increased risk of damage to cells in multiple organ systems.
The most serious bad things about viral infection they added and the most helpful thing about properly designed viral protein vaccines they ignored altogether.
