My 96 year old mother lives with my husband and me. I pray she will be able to be with us until the Lord calls her home. God bless and comfort that frail elderly woman in the video and all others living in vulnerable circumstances

My mom lives in a retirement home in Washington state and I refuse to wear a stupid diaper on my face when I go visit her but she worries constantly that she might get on the bad side of the workers there because I won’t wear a diaper.... I keep reminding her that she is the paying customer and should keep them in line... this video just makes me sick

Nothing will happen to the evil perpetrator ... she’s the “real victim” in every situation haven’t you heard? by virtue of the color of her skin...

facts have not mattered for years

& it’s been over 75 years since “the truth” set anybody free...

We recently had a royal commission for bro nursing homes in Australia for exactly these sort of issues. Another form of abuse is the prescribing and over prescribing of major antipsychotics and other like medications in order to immobilise patients in care. And maybe minimise number f staff required. I didn’t realise till too late that my mother was sedated in this manner without my knowledge or consent . Her death certificate from 1994 says she died from septicaemia resulting from an injury acquired in the heart me and medical negligence. Nothing has changed in the intervening years. The end of life protocols with Midazolam and morphine enacted worldwide during the pandemic reflects the lack of respect our politicians and elite have for our elderly. I suspect nothing will change. Economically countries have frittered away pension funds and they see older people as inconvenient and expensive 😢

IMO it's very cruel to put older relatives in nursing homes. In the US, these places are commonly understaffed. Private equity firms have been buying up a lot of them. They put profit above all else. There needs to be a different model.

A friend placed her husband in a nearby facility when he developed dementia not too long after receiving the second COVID shot. She couldn't work and watch him at the same time. This place automatically assigned him to hospice which she had to stop. They went after their assets which she had to stop. This woman has to visit daily to prevent them from abusing him. Each day, she's asked if it's time now to put him in hospice. I've been wondering how many are being euthanized every day by killer medical workers.

Unfortunately sometimes there is no choice. My mom had a massive stroke and was paralyzed. I was in the military at the time and stationed in another state.

Nursing homes are nothing more than a death camp.

Probably, neglect happens more often than physical abuse. I was visiting a friend once , very senile, but liked company. I became acquainted with a woman across the hall. As I was leaving, she called and asked me if I would tell an aide that she needed help. She had been pushing her button for some time and her light outside the door was on. Immobile in bed, she had soiled herself and needed a clean up. I went to the station down the hall, and two Hispanic workers were having a conversation in Spanish. I speak Spanish, so I told them the situation. They continued their conversation, I stayed at the door and stared at them. Finally, one got up and left

to do her job.

I'm bared from Twitter so I will post here,I worked as a cna in nursing homes and nurses discriminated against patients they didn't like denied them showers and left them to sit for hours in the hall in there wheelchairs not changed not cleaned for hours only cleaned at the end of the shift before putting them to bed they have no voice it's inhumane so shortstaffed no way to provide abdicate care you get injured trying to care for the patients the administration doesn't care, only get it done.thats why no one want to work in the nursing home it's impossible and heart breaking.

The Lord helps those who help themselves. It is long past time to fight back, and the group that allows blacks to act with impunity, has been kicked out of many nations, for thousands of years.

This has been happening for yonks. Why notice now? The entire idea of institutions is at fault and everybody who thinks this is normal to put people away in institutions and children into schools. This entire structure has to go but we need to talk about what would be better because we can't just toss people out onto the streets.

The way she was thrown to the floor she could have broken a hip...that often leads to death...pneumonia. It looks as though her head was being banged on the wall while in chair, and that could cause a fracture or sub dural haematoma. That too could lead to death. This is OUTRAGEOUS. JAIL TIME, and LOTS of it is necessary. That poor woman.

Removing her from this job/facility is far from punishment, IMO. Any other time I can’t see people so excepting of this cruel treatment of fellow human beings. This bitch needs a whole hell of a lot more than just job termination. She doesn’t care about her job and neither does her buddy playing videographer. Jesus. Even jail time seems too benign. Monsters.

How about the bitch that walked by her while she was hitting the lady and did nothing? Looks like 3 need charges filed against them.

Loss of job? - easily she’ll get another because these places are so short staffed - and have extremely high turnover rates. I noticed when my mother was in one , almost every person employed there at all levels was also a foreigner who my mother nor her children (myself and three siblings) could communicate with. My mother was desperate to leave the place; as we worked that, which is terribly difficult, she died, two weeks after a Chinese attendant came back from a two week holiday in China. It was very late November 2019. She was only there for one month. One of the things we kids liked about the place in the “sales pitch” is that a doctor would make regular weekly rounds- so her care could be transferred to the facility. She was moving from another assisted living place she liked that was two hours away from me. We were seeing things there that should not have been happening. So moving her with more doctors oversight sounded good. After moving her in and day after day, week after week, no doctor showed up, we were finally told after having asked several times- when is doctor coming - we were told he had changed his schedule to only once a month. No doctor had seen her in that month even to get a baseline upon entering. She had several co-morbidities but had been managing well. It was nice having her five minutes away. She had been five minutes away from another sister.

My daughter, a young lady with a masters in speech pathology, her first position with her degree was in a different assisted living home. She hated the place and had to leave after one year. Before giving her notice, however, she was offered the position of Directorship of the Facility. She’s an excellent SP now and a very empathetic, and caring person, but was not that good, not in her first year out of school, and she knew it. No business background, no facilities operations background, and certainly no H/R experience and no experience in lots of other areas she would have needed to be the Director of such an operation. She tried to explain to me how they made their money - I’m sure she would not have even understood any of that, but I understood even less. I am an accountant. Nothing seemed on the up and up. When the Directorship was offered to her, it cemented her view that she was doing herself no good staying there and was gone shortly thereafter. She knew it was a desperate offer, and it was. I was and am proud of her for seeing through it all.

I do however have regret that my siblings and I felt that it was the right thing to do to move my mother into Assisted Living. I’d now much rather her last days/ months / years be here with me. But I don’t have a second chance. We’ve learned so much over the past three years about hospital administrations - I think much of the same holds true for Assisted Living/ Care administrations. Whatever dignity a person has left is painfully stripped away in these places, as you can see.

We could not keep my father in law here because he was wheelchair bound and could not get into the bathroom. Fortunately he got very good care for the five years he went from independent to assisted living to nursing, but I fear for my old age!

I couldn't watch the video. My father had Lewy body dementia. He passed away in April 2021 and his death is still fresh for me. I loved him so much. I took care of him for six years. He lived with us until he went into a wheelchair and I couldn't lift him in and out on my own. I did my best to select the best facilities for him. However, there was one short term place he went into after a hospital stay. It was a rehabilitation facility recommended by the hospital. My dad was around 85 at the time.

I went to see him every day. One day, I noticed he had a big sore and bruises on his leg. He said a male attendant had beaten him. I was horrified and immediately called the director. They director called the orderly in, asked him if it was true and then JUST TOOK HIS WORD FOR IT! There was no investigation.

There was something off about the attendant's demeanor. I can't really describe it, but there was an edge to him and I felt very uncomfortable even being in the room with him. He was callous and arrogant. He told me my dad was hallucinating and didn't know what he was saying, that he had only been helping him dress. He claimed by dad got the sore from being in bed. There was no way. I had just seen my dad the night before and there was no sore. There were no cameras in the room (nor were they allowed).

I immediately moved my dad out of the facility to our house. My husband took off work so he could help me with my dad while we looked for another place. I told the director what I thought of them, and I reported the place to the authorities. I don't think anything was done to them though.

It was gut-wrenching seeing my frail, sweet father lying there injured and clearly terrified. There were other times even at high-end facilities that he was treated badly, left lying in his own urine, barely cared for by bored looking people. I was at the facilities as much as possible to prevent this, but it was the worst during Covid. They wouldn't let me in the faclity. They locked my dad in his room by himself and he became so depressed he was suicidal.

I've heard this is what happens: because many are memory care patients with dementia, they aren't believed when they report abuse. My dad did have delusions. I had to learn how to discern what was true and what wasn't, but I always was extra careful about anything he said that spoke to him being manhandled or abused. I looked for marks or injuries on him every day.

It hurts even talking about this. My dad was never in a nursing home. These were all high-end assisted living or memory care places that don't take Medicare. They are private pay. He didn't have enough income for these places so we subsidized them. Yet even these places still have issues.

I wish I had kept him home with me the whole time. I know Jesus has forgiven me for not doing enough. I pray my dad has also forgiven me.

Yesterday I was at church and saw an elderly man in the seat in front of me. He didn't look like my dad but something about his posture, hair and the sweater he wore reminded me of my dad. He looked confused and his movement were tentative. He was with an older woman, probably his wife. I stood their crying while we were singing. It came out of nowhere.
