WOW! Just WOW! I had no idea Taiwan created THAT much of what the world uses and needs. I don’t watch television, but I’m sure this simple fact is reported no where. No wonder the Pelosis are “buying, selling, trading” under the radar.

ha ha ha, that is one reason for the trip MAYBE...but in reality, if Taiwan fell, you/our lives could be stopped. Consider the world if China controlled all the semi conductors. Yes, it wants to make money, yes, but it could operate how the government operated with the vaccines, it can turn the life of not just you, but a complete nation off...like the mandates or the vaccine passport...see where I am going with this?

My friend and former pharmacist is from there and has told me from the beginning that is why China wants to own them!

Didn't China just embargo sand dhipments to Taiwan? Isn't that silly? After all, sand is nothing but oxygen and...silicon. Oh, wait....

That’s why Pelosi is there to ensure her husband gets in on the action. Funny he has a company involved in that.

Here is another look doctor. Are two wolves really fighting each others over a sheep, or two wolves plan to divide the sheep in halves? We don't know if the trip is for state business or to gain bargain chip for personal leverage, which can be used in financial deal with China team, the old hag doing the haggling for a dollar more into her pocket, as she can push policies with her congress minions and the gavel. Donations will be flowing into campaign funds from her Asian friends on both sides of the Taiwan matter.

“Vaporizing China” would inevitably mean that millions of Americans would die. And that’s wrong and bad. Vaporizing China would also mean that hundreds of millions of innocent civilians would die. I think you should tone down your rhetoric immediately. People are already living in fear of getting sick…getting them riled up with anger will help their fears come true.

There are diplomatic ways of assuring that China won’t invade. But, if Taiwan fell to China, we’d be inconvenienced to the point of producing our own semiconductors in cooperation with our Allie’s. Getting some of our own cities vaporized would be a real inconvenience.

like you and most, we are hyperbole at times to get the message across...I WAS careful to say CPP, not the people...you dont need to tell me about the harms of war and the like...try to think of the meaning of what I am saying...bottom line is Taiwan is critical to your life if you did not know...and in some sense, if China took it and stopped chips to you, you do understand the implications. so this is a debate we must have and people must understand why the US is backing Taiwan...you are right but I am assuming we are all adults and understand what I am saying...if China shot down the plane with the speaker and killed Pelosi, we then vaporize the CCP...it's that simple, glad to clarify for you.

On the bright side, without an endless supply of chips, the likelihood of being forced into an all digital cashless system of servitude would be severely impaired.

I do like your tone Tom and we write differently. We mean same. But I am talking about the Chinese govn threatening to shoot down the 3rd in line to the POTUS of US plane. That was insane. I notice you did not mention that. You should and it is that I will say again, if any nation shoots down the plane of US government officials, we then attack them.

Our gov should focus on providing attractive economic conditions right here in the US for critical manufacturing, instead of misleading nations time after time to rely on our promises of military intervention. The people of Taiwan, just like the people of Ukraine, will pay the price for our gov’s craven and false PR statements.

Brinksmanship is the Globalist game.

China CCP is no different than The City of London or Wall Street/DC

The bluster in this article is theater. Nothing more.

Like Chinese drills Pelosi visit is fraud.

Not to mention what a HEMP (high-altitude electro magnetic pulse) blast might do to a widely unprotected economy and the subsequent chip demand to repair/replace if done in conjunction with such geopolitical moves by either side.

I bet one of Piglosi's main objective was making sure her husband's recent insider trading stocks in semiconductors are secure

Chip shortages are already affecting many industries. Could be interesting if the CCP takes overs Taiwan and controls the global supply of semiconductors...

And to think that the US used to manufacture all those chips. But we sent it all over seas so the CEOs could make more money.

The US is out of its depth here. This is not Iraq or Afghanistan. They have been beaten a few times by China already and can't win against Russia either. The days of empire are over.

The US should threaten to cut all ties to Communist China over threatening Taiwan.

To back this up they should expell all communist Chinese from the us from students to academics, scientists, military, etc. And frankly they should have never been allowed inside the US. Unions must be abolished in the US. It’s their unreasonable demands that led to the movement of manufacturing to China and elsewhere along with the communists funding environmental and labor groups to pass laws and regulations that make the US uncompetitive

I can't speak to all labor unions, but it was the UAW and the Teamsters that caused the United States the most problems. The UAW especially killed car manufacturing in the USA. You had uneducated people pushing a button on a machine for $50 or more per hour. It's not like they were running and programming CNC machines. I saw first hand, employees getting off evening shift coming out of the plant drunk and with their bottles in paper bags in their hands. NO, I am NOT implying it was all or the majority of the employees, but everytime, there were more than 10 that I personally saw. At least the Teamsters had the fact that on long hauls they were potentially putting their lives on the line, due to possible vehicular accidents. So Unions can be bad and good. They need to be regulated or at least some oversite.
