So sorry I cannot afford to pay. Been living with no electricity for a year now and looking after my husband with ABI after a stroke. I do appreciate what you are doing. Xx
Linden. Thank you for your concern. I need to say I have no electricity because the possums got in the roof and ate all the wiring so the 2 story house would have to be completely re-wired. Estimated cost (2 quotes) would be $20,000+. I was actually in credit with my electricity bill at the time. I have tried all the charities and the local council and local member of parliament. We Cannot get a social worker, because unless my husband is actually in hospital, you are not assigned one. He is on the National disability insurance scheme due to Acquired Brain Injury, yet still there is no help for us. I have Limited income on carer’s pension and I am still paying the mortgage. The health fund costs $600 / month. So the bank says I cannot service a loan. We live in 3rd world conditions in a capital city in Australia. Yet that same Disability insurance scheme pays some of its patients an all expenses paid week long trip for the whole family to Sea world and Movie World costing $15,000??? It also funds people to get Tarot readings, Crystal sessions and even pays for prostitutes for “sex therapy “??? But We live in darkness using torches, wash clothes by hand sweep the carpet with a straw broom and I have to walk the 2 mile round trip to the shops for consumables every day or two, because without a fridge or freezer I cannot keep food fresh. This is a very expensive way of living and makes it hard to budget. We are nearly 70 with various medical conditions and no electricity makes life rather difficult. Thank you for listening.
Substack was great when it started out, however please be careful, Paul...! Joint creator Hamish McKenzie appears to be going down the road most travelled and is flirting with censorship. He recently interviewed Professor Emily Oster, author of the infamous October 2022 article calling for a pandemic amnesty. He misjudged his audience and his interview was met with an almost unanimously negative response. I had my comments deleted and he banned me for 100 years I discussed the ins and outs of it in a YouTube video here...https://youtu.be/0CKvKN5wjt4
I am not sure if this just went out to all subscribers but I upgraded the same week I subscribed. I look forward to reading these every day. Sometimes a short statement, thought or observation and sometimes detailed analysis and reporting - I learn so much every day about topics that matter to me the most. Thank you Dr. Alexander for all you do.
I paid double that for a year - $49 before you reduced to $39 plus a complimentary copy of your book. When I wrote asking if I could get a book too you replied “yes.”
i love you Dr. Paul, you are honest and funny and smart. i wish i could afford to pay but i live on social security as i am old and also chronic injury. i thank you for keeping this free for me to read and comment on you are one of the only ones who do. God bless you and yours.
I’ll subscribe when you come out with a full-voiced endorsement of Dr. Jane Ruby. She was leading the charge in the C-Truth movement while you were sitting around trying to decide how you were wanting to proceed. I’ll decide after your rescheduled visit on her show.
wow. so last week I got a notice which said I upgraded to pay.. I am going to have to check my accounts. I just got a note saying my Dominion Energy bill had changed ... and they didn't get paid and spent two hours printing all the fact I paid.. I love your column.. let me get my eye surgery done (LEFT EYE next). because right now I am having issues keeping track of all these charges. especially at tax time when I cannot even read the numbers. ttyl. isabell
I'm already subscribed. Dr. Paul. I'm also on a modest retirement income, but a modest $40/year subscription for the value you provide, is a great deal. I'll spread the word!
Maybe the readers here who feel unable to pay would also be willing to spread the word about your excellent Substack, especially at a reduced price. With some exceptions, I think that many Americans have submitted to the "Napster" mentality that everything should be free. I personally think the best things in life come at a price.
I live your substack, but subscribe to many outstanding independent authors. I have no problem paying, but for how many? If I paid for all of them, it would be prohibitively expensive. I wish there was a way to aggregate subscriptions to make it more reasonable or incorporate some form of micro-payment through a general subscription. I think that would be the next evolutionary step for the platform. If an author has say 30k subscribers and they each contributed $0.30 or $0.40/mo, a portion of a $10 or $15 monthly subscription, then that would be very significant.
Govt employees are your enemy. They will track you down, take your house, and confiscate what you have to pay themselves, greedy, lazy, incompetent parasites that they are.

Same fixed income really need to watch our spending
If you're in the US, there should be some aid for you, from your city or county.

When I just tried to check on the status of my subscription, the dialogue button would not take me to review my status. Help (?)
