Thanks Dr. Alexander. It is unfortunate that we just can’t trust anything pushed by the medical mafia.

I know someone that had a very low grade prostate cancer in his early 50’s. Gleason 4. PSA of about 8. He was talked in to prostatectomy and told there was no risk of ED or urinary incontinence. Guess what? He got both! He is in depends full time. Completely impotent. He had the surgery at a tertiary care center, supposedly an excellent place. To tell someone there is no risk of these outcomes is just a huge lie. I tried to tell him but he believed the surgeon.

its a game...look, many times these doctors and surgeons may mean well but are flying in the dark and do not explain the benefits vs the risks...properly so that you can be informed.

My husband had just received his heart transplant a year or so earlier at 58 yo when he was told he had prostate cancer. Although of the 3 opinions as his was very low grade, one Dr. said not to worry about yet. The other two recommended treatment. My husband investigated thoroughly the best treatment and determined the seed implants was the way to go as it had extremely low risks for residual damage. So we went to the Seattle Swedish Hospital who in 2006 were the only ones doing the seed implants. My late husband suffered no residual incontinence or ED beyond what he had already from all the meds after the transplant. What I am getting to is the cruelty of his having to deal with that not long after a heart transplant which he had endured 15 months in the hospital to get. Another Dr. wanted to perform Lap Band surgery on him as he had gained some weight and become diabetic after the transplant. I knew that kind of major surgery on him was very risky and couldn’t believe it was suggested to him. It obviously looked very money motivated. Then later it was evident there was a high number of deaths of people who had gotten that surgery. I knew of two firsthand. One of them was a women who was only 40 lbs overweight and was in good health prior to the surgery and only about 40 years old. The other a male who lost a lot of weight, over 100 lbs, but died in less than two years. He was only 37 years old. It shocked me then the high fatality rate. All this happened almost 20 years ago. Another women I know of had part of her stomach removed (she was not even very overweight), and then developed a very serious alcohol problem instead until she died finally drinking bottles of wine every night for years. Such drastic surgeries to lose weight, sometimes only 30-40 lbs, boggles my mind and looks very profit oriented that a reputable Dr. would perform them is suspect to say the least. It’s all about money!

I have read only the headline so far, Paul, and (for once) I am with you all the way.

Doesn't really matter that "privates parts" are involved. The overlords are sick, sick people who will use any avenue. Toenails, nasal hair, anything. Whatever story they can get folks to beleive.

Really, the fault is ours.

Expand full comment

Yep, the fault is ours! We all need to do our homework on treatment options and get a second opinion before we pursue every recommendation made. I have been “dismissed” as a patient from a practice by a doctor who didn’t think I should question him about a procedure he recommended. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I hope he went home and had heartburn. I hope he got ED. (We used to say "His wife should restrict his privileges" but that sounds a bit out of date.) There is a reasonable chance he is suffering, and maybe worrying about legal consequences. You could complain about him to the AMA. Granted they are the source of the problem, but so what. Drag him, and them, through some paperwork. S'fer as I know it is unethical for him to dismiss a patient.

Expand full comment

He was a jerk, you can’t dismiss a patient unless you refer them or it can be seen as a situation of abuse by abandonment. I do think I could have gone after him, but I felt that I better off getting away from him. He definitely wanted to make some extra cash with surgery, and it made him angry that I wouldn’t go along with his plan. He was as an OB GYN, who must have thought women should be seen and not heard. I think an ulcer would be the punishment of choice. 😂

THe prostate gland gets enlarged if there is too much estrogen, if one is sensitive to DHT, if there is a stealth or occult infection of the prostate be that with bacteria or parasites and heavy metal toxicity. It can be a combination in some and not in others, but if the above is treated the prostate will heal and shrink. If there is cancer... it gets a little more complcated because we have been indoctrinated by the medical cartel to only do what they say it is ok to do (so they can make money and control everything) but ivermectin, nitazoxonide and mebendazole at the correct doses go a long way in killing the cancer... now there is more anti-cancer things one can do but that is byond the scope of this comment.

Thank you, Dr. Alexander! I’ve tracked my PSA over a few decades - goes up, goes down. I’ve also watched and observed what others have done in response, from nothing to exotic treatments. Thank you, I’ll watch it, but unless it makes a huge jump, I’ll just watch. If does make a huge jump, I’ll assess how I feel, how I’m doing, etc., but probably at 99% certainty I’ll do nothing since it is slow growing. Given my age (late 70’s), and that I am unjabbed (thus any turbo cancer unlikely), I’ll probably die of old age with prostrate cancer, not from prostrate cancer.

There are many hoaxes around and not just medical ones. One of the biggest in recent years is the "presidential hoax" in USA and the slime minister hoax in Canf*ckistan where fake leaders are inept and hell bent in wrecking western civilizations. We have ovomit and his ASSministration, biDUMB and the same ASSministration, and now Camelthing who is the "bitch of bigotry" whose biggest trait is a liar. Oddly enough that same characteristic is a commonality in the trudope regime as well as in most western pseudo leaders on this wretched planet.

Another hoax is running in to the proctologist to get a water hose passed up your rectum. There is always the danger of perforation which can be deadly. Now with two other noninvasive tests, you have options. It always makes me laugh when people proudly announce in mixed company that they got hosed! Like the vaxxed on Facebook taking photos of their vaxx card. Sheesh!

Well, I being a Prostate Cancer Survivor .. and yes I did indeed have Prostate Cancer.

Here is the thing: PSA is simply a "flag" indicator and not a FIRM - yes you have cancer!

My doctor first did a "shot gun biopsy" - which came back negative for cancer. I then insisted on a MRI - Infused Biopsy and yes ... 4+3 two samples and 5+3 in two more.

I would tell men and NO IT'S NOT FUN!! To insist on a MRI Infused Prostate Biopsy.

My PSA was 20.4 .... and after the radiation it went and is 2.x PSA.

Thank you for this article. I didn't occur to me that prostate cancer was over diagnosed and treated. Wow.

My comments below are long and may take some time to read.

I added this to the top and will be the end of it for me.

The do nothing approach may work for many but be careful because untreated cancer may result in Metastasis. I know a man in his 80's that takes Lupron injections every few month because he has metatstatic prostate cancer. It's not fun to live that way! Do your own research, it's your body!

I took the PSA for 20 years. The test results showed a gradual increase in PSA till it went of 4.0 ng/mL. After that I went to a urologist for digital rectal exams (DRE) and PSA testing every 6 months. Over the next 2 years it gradually increased to 6 ng/mL and then to over 11 ng/mL in 6 months. I then submitted to a prostate biopsy. Cancer cells were detected in 4 of the 12 specimens. I do not remember the Gleason Score but I believe it was about 5. Biopsy samples were sent to an outside lab to determine the aggressiveness of the cancer (genomic testing). That test reported that I had a 5% change of being dead by age 70 if nothing was done. I was about 60 yrs old at the time. So additional tests were conducted to determine if it had spread outside the prostate capsule. Such tests included a dye exam using x-ray where the radiologist was concerned with my seminal vesicles too. I had to travel 60 mile for a detailed MRI which was repeated a week later with results being "UNREMARKABLE” Based on this data, It was assumed by me and my urologist that the cancer remained in the prostate.

Options: were: Do nothing, Brachytherapy with Palladium 103 (1/2 life of 17 days), or prostate gland removal. I did not like the removal process at all and long-term outcomes were bad.

I went to several specialist for their opinions. I was somewhat surprised that recommendations were determined by type of physician visited. Example: The surgeon wanted to cut. That visit reminded me of purchasing a car from a dealership with hard selling progressing from floor salesman (intern) to sales manager (chief surgeon). If I had gone to other cities outside of daily driving there may have been several variations of these available. There are other treatments but these were the ones local to me. My treatment began with Lupron, a medication that stop your body from producing testosterone.

Ladies, the luteinizing hormone injection resulted in extreme hot flashes much more severe than my wife ever had. So, I had a lot of experience with hot flashes! After 3-4 months of this, I underwent the Brachytherapy. The Lupron also made my prostate smaller. This made it easier to use the Palladium seeds.

My prostate still works but I take Cialis because it is more difficult to pee without it and erections are more difficult. I had no issues prior to treatment.

Bottom line:

There are many men with high PSA numbers that do not have cancer.

One single PSA test is not a good reason to undergo Prostate Cancer Treatment.

Extreme changes in PSA over a short period of time may indicate the need for a biopsy.

In my case the changes in PSA with time was exponential following a 1st Order differential Equation with a very good fit.

Never panic or get into fear! Find the right solution for you.

I did a lot of research into the best treatment options and spent 2 months looking through peer review publication and abstracts using google scholar and other search engines I looked at the best long-term outcomes from papers that reviewed and studied different treatments. Oh, I forgot my PSA since treatment had been essentially non-detect (below the ability of the test to give an number) for about 6 years.

I have 3 engineering degrees terminating with PH. D and a professional research engineer for 27 years. I was/am accustom to reviewing scientific paper and technical reports.

My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018 and had a prostatectomy-age 53. Both of his brothers had the same. He still tests his PSA and at least since 2021 the number is increasing slightly .17, .19, .27. One Dr says you can't do anything until it gets to a 1. Another Dr wants to do bloodwork, PSA, Testosterone and PET scan. Anyone hear of this? We will be going for a 2nd opinion.
