Disappointingly, the official statements televised on the news today from various law enforcement agencies are uncomfortably simplistic, styled to provoke emotional reaction rather delivered in a straightforward and serious manner, and contradict their own statements from yesterday when they were certain Jabbar had "accomplices." Today they confidently say he acted alone and they have surveillance video of him placing bombs in "ice boxes" on at least two different street locations. They did not show the video.
Law enforcement also referenced videos I'd read about yesterday of Jabbar making threatening statements aimed at family and friends, followed by reports he also video-recorded himself later stating he should reconsider and attack "non-believers" to better get his religious message across.
Hmm... He's dead. There will be no trial. Why not show the video and allow us to decide for ourselves? (I'm sure they'll say 'so as not to radicalize other young black men.' But I don't buy that. At this point they can craft the narrative however they wish and we have no alternative but to believe them or go away dissatisfied.)
I do recall statements by Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy (R) yesterday vowing to get to the bottom of this tragedy and not allow the authorities to mislead the country about what happened. I look forward to hearing his take on all this, too.
The biggest surprise for me was seeing the only video released here of Jabbar, from the past, advertising his real estate business. He had all the familiar physical and vocal characteristics of a typical, moderately successful black American male. From that one memorable ubiquitous photograph of him in an Islamic-styled beard and faraway look, I was led to believe he was black muslim or Middle Eastern in heritage. I think that was a reaction manipulated by law enforcement and/or the media.
I look forward to seeing how this all plays out.

"LAS VEGAS (AP) — The highly decorated Army soldier inside a Tesla Cybertruck packed with fireworks that exploded outside Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas shot himself in the head just before detonation, authorities said Thursday." This crime is even more suspicious. What's the connection between the two events, if any?
