Midazolam (also known as Versed) given IV should only have been given by an anesthesiologist. It is oft used as a pre anesthesia med. I am not saying an Intensivist wouldn't be qualified to administer it IV but I doubt that took place given intensivists do not grow on trees.

I want to know why in the UK there was so much interest in doing the Midazolam/intubation protocol... where they getting incentivized to do this like what took place in the USA?
