While there may very well be (albeit an extremely small number in the population) those who are "genuinely" suffering transgenderism, there clearly are a number who, for whatever reason, are desperately seeking attention and feel that this is the latest best way to get it. As a former teacher, I saw this phenomena throughout the years. We had students at one time (called themselves the stoners), then we had people who were quasi modern-day hippies, then we had kids explore homosexuality. It seems if one is a social outcast, unpopular, or ostracized in some manner, they seek out ways to make themselves socially acceptable. Better to be the "strange" kid than the one who doesn't identify within any conventional social grouping. Sadly, this iteration of social acceptability is having/will have significant permanent ramifications. These people are to be pitied. I expect that we will see HUGE numbers of regret in the years to come.
If you looked into this you would probably find trans are being killed by other trans. The incidences of violence within the trans community against each other and against women is huge. You can’t pump delusional people with horrible psychotropics and then add massive hormones and surgery and expect good results.
