The US has for decades been number one among the world's developed nations for obesity.

39.6 % of US adults are reportedly are obese and another 31.6 % are reportedly overweight and 7.7 % are reportedly severely obese. Given a reluctance of Americans to exercise or limit the amounts of food they shovel into their mouths it is no surprise that Americans are looking for someone to wave a magic wand, or give them a pill or an injection, to fix the problem. There's one born every minute so Wegovy etc are now being marketed to Americans as providing even more health benefits:

Users of "GLP-1 agonists report less craving of alcohol and other substances, including nicotine ..." As well as food, of course.

How fortunate there's a deadly remedy for people without self-discipline.
